Europe seeks eSports champion in "League of Legends": EU LCS Summer Finals in Krakow, Sunday August 28, live from 8:15 p.m. on SPORT1 free-TV

Ismaning, August 26, 2016 – The next eSports highlight live on SPORT1: Germany’s leading 360° multimedia sports platform SPORT1 and Riot Games, developer and publisher of League of Legends, have agreed a collaboration for the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS) Summer Finals. SPORT1 will report live from the EU LCS Summer Finals 2016 in Krakow, Poland, Sunday August 28 from 8:15 p.m. As well as live coverage of the best-of-five final between G2 Esports and Splyce beginning early evening from 5:00 p.m, viewers can enjoy in-depth analysis of the play as the two current best “League of Legends” (LoL) teams in Europe battle it out for the crown. Co-hosts Tim Feldner and Malte "Malternativ" Hesse will be joined in the studio in Ismaning by eSports experts Berk "Gilius" Demir (eSports professional) and Jona "Johnny" Schmitt (eSports commentator). As usual, in addition to the live TV broadcast, eSports fans can look forward to comprehensive coverage on the eSports-Channel at SPORT1.de and on the SPORT1 eSports app. Users can join in the discussions live with the hashtag #esportsonair.

The EU LCS Summer Split Finals 2016 live on SPORT1 free-TV

After a thrilling season in the European League of Legends Championship Series, we now know the two teams that will battle it out in the EU LCS Summer Split Finals 2016: G2 Esports and Splyce, the best two European teams in "League of Legends" (LoL), will battle it out in the grand final. The big showdown will take place Sunday, August 28 in the TAURON Arena in Krakow starting at 5:00 p.m. SPORT1 will be broadcasting this European championship final, which is played in a best-of-five format, live from 8.15 p.m. on free-TV. As well as live action followed by the presentation ceremony, SPORT1 will present in-depth analysis of the battle for Europe’s LoL crown. Co-hosts Tim Feldner, who already presented SPORT1’s live coverage of ESL One Frankfurt, and Malte "Malternativ" Hesse, well-known in the eSports community for hosting at Germany’s biggest“League of Legends” network Summoner’s Inn,will welcome an illustrious lineup of eSports experts to the studio, with pro-gamer Berk "Gilius" Demir alongside LCS commentator Jona "Johnny" Schmitt from eSports agency Freaks 4U Gaming. During the show Malte Hesse will be presenting the analysis of selected game sequences. Maxim Markow and Nico "Sola" Linke of Summoner’s Inn will be the commentators of the live stages.

Via Krakow to North America: The champions from the summer final will be the first European team to qualify for the World Championship 2016 in North America this fall. The EU LCS Summer Split Finals 2016are also an opportunity to pick up crucial championship points, bearing in mind that the second world championship starter spot for a European team goes to whoever amasses the most championship points over the course of the year.
